I'm three months overdue with writing up my reading. I think monthly posts are just too daunting, so I'll try to see if I can keep up with it better if I do a weekly post. I won't commit to a named day, but it might often be Thursday, since that's my free evening.

This year's Christmas presents included two very successful DVD boxed sets. The first is Galavant. I've wanted to watch this ever since it first came out, but couldn't find a way to watch it that didn't involve illegal downloads. Fortunately, and at long last, it's out on (region 1) DVD. Today I have mostly been ranting about the way that trousers (for which read trousers or hose or braies or braccae or leg wrappings or any other leg covering of choice) have been airbrushed out of Yore and Fantasyland. Sometimes I get ridiculously bothered by tiny, trivial things in books and movies. I spent many seasons of Buffy intensely bothered by her habit of wearing huge hooped ear-rings while engaging in hand-to-hand combat with monsters.
